OBSERVATIONS FROM MY ROOM (4th jan 2026)
Cables look like spiderwebs. Maybe it's the dim lighting, but I mistook the white charger
connecting the unseen1 socket behind my desk to an empty spot on the shelf for
a thick, terrifying web. A standing fan pushes cool air across my body, but it's not enough to
stop the heat from prodding me to sleep.
There's not much else going on in here. I've observed it all a million times before. I just
never realised that chargers look like spiderwebs from this angle2, and I felt the
need to mention it.
EXPANSION:
1At least from where I lie with my back on the bed; it's uncomfortable to write
like this, and the pen is heavy in my hand, but my back still hurts from shovelling dirt for
hours in the rough summer heat (exhausting), and this is the only way the heat (healing) pack
will stay on that awkward nook of my back. That's an odd feature we have, isn't it? Maybe it
has an evolutionary purpose. Note to self: research that. Ignore all the lovers
trying to be poetic.
2I don't spend enough time in or around this spot, except to sleep. That should
change. It'd be a nice angle to draw my room from, especially if I haul up in the corner.
